The Durability of a Rainaway Underdeck

Our Rainaway Under Deck System is made of aluminum for maximum durability.

We attach our ceiling on the underside of the deck. It drains the water away from the house and into a gutter system which leads to the downspout. Our roof is a ceiling under your deck, which keeps it dry and clean for entertaining, storage, and many other uses.

If you are considering adding a deck to your home – and we will be happy to install a Rainaway Under Deck System for you once you have – we’re going to urge you to consider staying away from using wood for the deck. First we’ll give you the usual reasons.

One is maintenance. Sanding, sealing, staining, and painting are recommended every 2-5 years for a wood deck. That’s a heavy schedule. Composite decks simply need cleaning twice a year to maintain their lux look.

Second is durability. Composite materials can last up to 50 years; wood hangs on maybe 30.

And now, there’s this. Lumber futures prices for March topped $1,000 per 1,000 board feet for the first time, marking both a record and a doubling of the price from three months earlier. Ouch!

What’s going on? A roaring demand for homes, persistent low interest rates, and a boom in home remodeling continue to push prices higher.

Go for durability, ease of care, and a break for your wallet. And call Rainaway to give you even further useable space beneath the deck.
